Bye Bye Bye

“Don’t want to be a fool for you
Just another player in your game for two
You may hate me but it ain’t no lie
Baby bye bye bye
Bye bye”

You know as much as I hate to admit this, for a brief time in my life, I danced along to the NSYNC song “Bye Bye Bye.” Of course this was before Justin Timberlake cried a river, stared at mirrors or couldn’t stop the feeling! Don’t judge because you probably did the same thing. However, this NSYNC song popped in my head recently and the last line “bye bye bye” kept playing in my head.

When I was 14 I bought a pair of Reebok Answers III’s. I loved these kicks. These shoes probably started my sneaker obsession. I wore these kicks everywhere. Of course I received countless compliments on them. What I didn’t know at the time was that I was going to experience a noticeable growth spurt that year. You probably guessed it, my feet grew as well. That would be a sign to a normal person to probably get new shoes. But I wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer back then. Because I liked those shoes so much that I would squeeze my feet in these shoes even though they were actually too small for me. It hurt me every time I wore those shoes but I couldn’t let those shoes go. I was a struggle for me.

What do you need need to say “bye bye bye” to? We all have things in our lives that we need to let go. Whether its a negative thought, a behavior, an addiction, clothes, memorabilia that represent a hurtful relationships or the past. There comes a time when we need to let go. What do you need to let go? Are you causing yourself unnecessary pain by squeezing your feet into shoes you’ve already outgrown?

But lets talk about style. I love this black wool jacket that I scooped up from Zara. Its so sleek, simple, and dapper. This jacket is one that will stand the test of time. You can pair it with formal attire or with your casual threads. I have to highlight the chrome detailing on the this jacket. I can’t mention this enough but DETAILS matter!

I also couldn’t get enough of this maroon cable knit sweater. It has more of that European swag to it. It also helps that this sweater is pretty comfortable as well. If your sweater game isn’t strong then you should definitely beef it up a little.

Here’s a fact about me. I always have a watch around my wrist. I actually feel naked if I don’t wear a watch. I know its weird but its true. With that being said you probably wont see me without a watch on. The shinny, gold time place around my wrist is by Fossil.

The slim fit jeans I’m rocking are from CottonOn. Let’s be honest its always a good thing to have two or three black jeans in you closet. There’s nothing like a good black jean. Its a foundational piece to any wardrobe. Black is really hot right now.

By now y’all should know how I feel about kicks. But you are probably wondering do these shoes fit? Of course they are my size. I’ve gotten a little smarter with age. But don’t give me too much credit though. These maroon zip up beauties are high top Sk8’s by Vans.

Here’s the entire look.
