Here’s a little unknown fact about me, “I don’t dream.” Some people may argue that “everyone dreams” or perhaps “you don’t remember your dreams but everyone dreams.” The verdict is still out on that. I’m unsure what the correct answer is. If you know the answer, feel free to chime in and enlighten me. However, I’m convinced that I don’t dream. To better explain this phenomenon, I literally close my eyes once I go to bed and somehow I open my eyes in the morning and have no recollection of what happens during the time in between. Shocking isn’t it? It’s been this way for for as long as I can remember (30 years strong if you are counting). I can’t explain why that happens. Everyone I’ve share this information with is blown away or refuses to believe that it happens to me.
My (super hot wife) however is the total opposite of me. She dreams all the time. She has the most vivid and details dreams. And she remembers all the details. That’s so fascinating to me. Most of the people I’ve grew up around seem to dream in some form or fashion. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to dream at night time. To be brutally honest, I’m somewhat jealous of people that do dream. I’ve tried all the methods I could thing of to perhaps get myself to dream like reading a book at night, not watching tv late at night, not allowing the bright light on my iphone to be the last thing I see at night, etc. Hey I’ve even prayed for dreams. So far I have no dreams to report.
I know this may seem trivial, but for the longest time I thought something was wrong with me. I allowed that thought to eat at me. There were times I woke up frustrated and angry simply because I didn’t dream the night before. I can’t believe I allowed a thought as simple as that to rock my world and to make me feel as though I was inadequate. Truth is, though I do not dream per say, I am in fact a dreamer. I dream of a day when the light completely eradicates the darkness. I dream of a day when we all would choose love as oppose to hate. I dream of a family and a few kid Bowes (athletically) running around the house. I dream of the legacy I want to leave behind for my kids. I dream of the humungous plans God has for me and the calling he’s placed on my life. I even dream of traveling the world and leading people in worship. In reality, though I may not dream, I have dreams that I am actively pursuing. So what are your dreams?
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. – Matthew 5:14-16
You knoooow I couldn’t let you go without talking about this fit. This long line olive colored trench jacket is a timeless and edgy piece. It’s really comfortable and has a fish tail cut and elongated drawstrings on the back of the jacket. You don’t have to add much to this jacket because it speaks for itself.
I decided to add a long line distress tee with the jacket. It amazes me the reactions this shirt can gets. I’ve been told it looked like I was in a gun fight and barely made it out alive. Shocking isn’t it? Hey, you can’t please everyone. But I love this shirt. Advice: Stay true to yourself and let your style run rampant.
The rose gold watch around my wrist is from Michael Kors. The color of this watch is a conversational piece. Lets be honest, rose gold is hot right now. If you are in the watch market, a rose gold is not a bad choice. I must talk about these jeans. These jeans are probably the best fitting and comfortable jeans Topman has ever made. Its hard to find jeans or trendy slacks that can fit an athletic frame. Hey we all can agree that its an amazing feeling to find jeans that make you feel real “brand new.” You know know jeans that make you put a little extra dose of swag in your steps. These are it! So go check them out!
These green cap toe boots I am rocking are from Steve Madden. The color of these boots was initially what drew me to purchase them. It also helped that I scored these boots (brand new) for $15! Yea, I call that “ballin on a budget.” Expect a post or two or three about that in the near future. I love finding deals and I’ll share what I’ve learned with you pretty soon.
Here’s a few pictures of the entire look.
I hope you enjoyed this post. Thanks for stopping by. Keep Dreaming!
