Hey everyone,

Lately I’ve been doing a lot of reflection. It’s funny how the older (more mature) I get, the more I find myself reflecting on life. You know, taking time to think of how much I’ve grown over the past few years. I try to tell myself that each day I open my eyes, I have a new opportunity to become better than I was the day before. That’s my heart, I want to become a better Fedrick. You know I truly believe that the day we think we have everything figured out or we’ve arrived is the very day we stop growing. I never want to get to that place. As I found myself reflecting during episode 4 of the this season’s Bachelorette (my wife wanted to watch but I won’t act like I didn’t get sucked in for a split second ha) I asked myself a serious question.

What are my desires in life? You know, what are those life goals or aspirations that are buried deep down in my heart? God’s given each of unique desires. Things that were engrained in us from long ago.

For you formed my inward parts;
    you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
    my soul knows it very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
    intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
– Psalms 139:13-15

When I was younger I wanted to take over Microsoft. I envisioned Bill Gates handing over the keys to me and trusting me with the technological juggernaut that is Microsoft. A few degrees later and a stirring of my heart via the Holy Spirit, that desire has changed. I no longer desire to be the big cheese at Microsoft. My desire is to shine the same light that changed my life onto others. The light of Christ. I desire to do that through the way I live my life and through worship. I desire to travel around the world with my beautiful bride and proclaim the glory of God every time we lead worship. Now, I don’t know how that’s going to look but thats a desire thats been ingrained in me long before I knew it was even there. So I’m taking active steps toward that. You know, writing songs, taking vocal lessons, fine tuning my guitar skills, and leading worship on the weekends.

The better question is what is your desire? Have you seriously asked yourself that question? Keep it 100 with yourself. If you haven’t ever asked yourself that question then do it right now. Whatever your answer may be, take steps in that direction. If you want to be a chef, then start working on being the best chef you can be. Take cooking classes, watch the food network, enroll in a cooking class, or invite some friends over and cook for them. Be the best chef you can be! If you want to start a non profit of some kind. Start researching the process involved, meet with other people that already run non-profits and pick their brains. There are desires in each of us placed in there by the Great I am himself. The world desperately needs what you have to offer! There’s space and room for you. And I’ll be there to cheer you on along the way!

But I have to give you the 4-1-1 on this look. We will start from the top and make our way down. Wide brim hats are still a thing y’all. This season they will be out and about. This is one of my favorite hats right now. The color of this hat is so dope.  Seriously, go get one.

I gravitated to this shirt simply because of the color. I thought it was different and a cool color that would transition well into summer. There’s just something about pastels. Some people say you have to be confident to rock the pastels. But I like adding a splash of color to the painting sometimes. Nonetheless, I love the color. This shirt also has a chrome zipper running along the sides of the shirt as well. DETAILS….

The jeans are a distressed motorcycle fitted jean. I love the details running along these jeans. It also helps that these jeans are super comfortable. Probably the best $15 jeans I’ve ever bought. Look out for the “Balling on a Budget” tutorial. Its coming soon!

I decided to tie in the look with these tan chelsea boots. These chelsea’s have a weathered look on the toe of the boot that as some would say, “gives me life!” Chelsea’s are always a good style addition to your shoe game. If you haven’t quite dove into that pool as yet, jump in because the water is fine!
